race report: pr racing round 5 brands hatch

background

Welcome to our Round 5 Race Report for the 2022 British Superbike Championship at Brands Hatch, in partnership with PR Racing. After a five-week break, the racing resumed in front of a record Bennetts British Superbike crowd at a sun-filled Brands Hatch GP Race Circuit.

iForce Lloyd and Jones rookie, #44 Jones, continued to show maturity and talent beyond his years by moving up to 20th during a competitive opening race for the first of the two appearance to the Brands Hatch circuit in the BSB calendar. Due to a technical fault, #4 Linfoot had to retire on lap 2.

In Race 2 of Sunday’s action, #44 Jones made a strong start, but a spill by the Welshman halted his race after only four laps. The team worked frantically to get the bike fixed up for Race 3, but gremlins from earlier caused him to retire on lap 12, ending his race weekend.

“The bike was much better at the end of the weekend compared to the start,” said the 21-year-old. “We worked on my riding style to help the iForce BMW and this is something to go forward with.”

the tech

The trackside IT was operational and provided remote support prior, during, and after the race weekend in the event of technical/hardware issues.

All telemetry data was captured and linked to PR Racing’s cloud environment. Back in the workshop, the team can analyse the data and discuss any improvements required for the next round at Thruxton.

The crew noticed some improvements for race 3 and believe it is a step forward; it simply has to be refined further.

what’s next
