Consult Hyperion is an independent consultancy specialising in transaction technology and are experts in the areas of mobile, identity, contactless and Near Field Communication payments.
Consult Hyperion was commissioned by the UK governments Department for International Development (DFID) to provide an eVoucher solution to farmers in Nigeria as part of the Growth Enhancement Scheme.
Applicita worked with Consult Hyperion to design, develop and test a set of microservices to provide registration and entitlement services to a Consult Hyperion designed Android client.
Since the system needed to work in areas with little or no connectivity the data synchronisation services supported both peer-to-peer and peer-to-service communications allowing users to synchronise their data through a series of human-powered mesh network.
The resulting Token Administration programme attracted a great deal of positive press coverage in both Nigeria and beyond (including being featured on the BBC’s “Tech Tent” programme) and was endorsed by the Nigerian government.
